3 Days Left to Apply to Telenor Velocity’s First Ever Agri Tech Programme

Telenor Velocity Launches Agritech Startup Programme
For the first time in Pakistan, Velocity introduces a thematic startup programme, focused on promoting one of the most integral yet critical avenues of Pakistan’s economy – Agriculture!

If you belong to the agricultural ecosystem, have a digital setup around it and looking forward to lifting it to the next level, here’s your opportunity. Telenor Velocity, the tech startup accelerator programme by Telenor Pakistan, introduces one of its kind programme for agri-tech startups in Pakistan. The 4-month programme is designed to facilitate agri-tech startups to automate processes, scale services and integrate data analytics at every level of the transaction.

With this, startup founders will also get the opportunity to partner with Pakistan’s biggest Agri digital audio platform and float their offerings to a wide subscriber base of 6 million farmers, access categorized crop information, precision geo-mapping using land digitization, incorporate rural female audience and 11+ million the base of customers using Telenor Digital Apps and IVR platform.

Why is it important?

Pakistan, being a foremost agricultural country, holds great potential and opportunities if tapped and equipped with the right technology and business infrastructure. Currently, agriculture contributes 10% to Pakistan’s GDP with over 40% of the labour force earning through it. Aiming to utilize Pakistan’s true potential and elevate current dynamics of the value chain, Telenor Velocity is stepping up the game by entering into Agri-tech Startup ecosystem.

With specialized activities and mentors from across Pakistan, Telenor’s Agri Tech acceleration programme is focused on understanding the real challenges of the agro-ecosystem and cater to the founders to overcome barriers, bring innovation and connect high demand urban markets with the rural fertile lands.

As a startup, all you need is to have a Minimum Viable Product (MVP)
Key characteristics of an MVP:
• It has enough value that people are willing to use it or buy it initially
• It demonstrates enough future benefit to retain early adopters
• It provides a feedback loop to guide future development
• Application closing date: March 24th 2019
