ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE PARADISE IN PAKISTAN – NEELUM VALLEY

KASHMIR: KNOWN AS THE BLUE GEM, NEELUM VALLEY IS ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACES OF AZAD KASHMIR.

Amongst the most visited places of Pakistan, Neelum valley consists of snow-covered peaks with over 370 villages. Situated at the parallel of Kaghan Valley, it lies in the north and northeast of Muzaffarabad.

Marked by thick forests, beautiful water streams, and rivers, this hilly area is famous for its minerals. It is approximately 180 km away from Islamabad and due to the ‘no airport’ facility, requires 7 hours of road drive.

With a bunch of mesmerizing views, Neelum valley is ranked as on the most attractive spots in the tourist community. It is far ahead in line of all the tourist places and is famous for honeymoon and family tour packages.

The lush green sights and scenic beauty of this spot can be approached through two different routes which include the Kaghan valley and the Noori top. The area is also popular for its local fruits like Apples, Plums, and Apricots which are often remembered due to their rich taste.

The following places indicate why tourists are so keen to explore the splendor of this region.

DHANI WATERFALL

One of the highest waterfalls of Neelum valley, the Dhani waterfall can be reached after a 45 minutes’ drive from Muzaffarabd. With a height of about 15 meters, this rivulet cutting through the rocky mountain offers a stunning view for all nature lovers. However, hotel accommodation is not available at this place, therefore its best to view it in the morning and move for a safe place by the evening.

If you are interested in having a look at Indian Occupied Kashmir, Indian Army, Indian flag and the culture of the villagers of Indian occupied Kashmir, then this place is for you. At a distance of 50 km from Muzaffarabad, this place is a unique area of attraction without any hotel accommodation.

KERAN AND UPPER NEELUM

Located on the right bank of the River Neelum, Keran and Upper Neelum are the most rushy areas with an excess of wildlife.  Keran offers a great view of the Indian Occupied Kashmir across the river. Upper Neelum is towards the top of the hill from Keran and is an ideal spot for hiking. It offers an excellent bird’s view of the Keran valley. The finest hotels of these areas are Pine Park Lodges and Green Village Resort.

KUTTON WATERFALL

Often described as the Niagara Falls of Pakistan, the Kundan Shahi/Kutton waterfall is at a distance of 85 km from Muzaffarabad. It is the heaviest waterfall of the area with Kutton resorts that offer a stunning view of the lush green mountains.

ARRANG KEL

Situated at the height of 8,379 feet near Kel, Arrang kel is a village full of beautiful sceneries. It is labeled as the “heaven on earth” and is one of the worth-seeing spots of Neelum Valley.

Reaching Arrang is difficult as it arrives after a two-hour hike from the village Kel, however, every step taken would worth it.

TAOBAT

Taobat village marks the end of the great Neelum Valley. With a combination of thick woods, crystal water streams and rich green meadows, it is fascinating enough to leave all tourists in awe. Taobat consists of a few guesthouses, however it is advisable to spend the night in Sharda or Kel.
